I had the pleasure to manage Arun during his internship at the University of Florence in Summer 2018. Together with my co-worker Andrea Gamannossi, we proposed the CFD investigation of gas turbine airfoils aimed at estimating the effects of surface roughness on the heat transfer.   • External aerodynamics using low fidelity tools and OpenFOAM (RANS) of Cassio 330 hybrid electric aircraft ( Voltaero)
  • Cooling of critical components in the casssio 330 aircraft: Radiator sizing and simulation by developing a python code and RANS simulations.
  • Mentor junior engineers: Python code development and supervising engineering solutions in day to day problems.
  • Hydrogen Tank sloshing simulations using InterFOAM solver. The data from the simulations are used to quantify phase change of Liquid hydrogen and to design optimal baffles.

Piloting

A combination of passion, sport and technique. Hands down, my favourite activity.

ZnO phosphor thermometry

Developed the phosphor thermometry technique at Institut P'. Experiments resulted in PhD thesis and few articles.

BATH Test rig

Part of the team to design, build and test the BATH test rig. Max temp: 1500K, pressure: 10 bar to simulate real turbine conditions.

P-300 aircraft assembly

Part of the ENSMA student team to assemble a kit P-300 aircraft. The aircraft is part of the european program Build2Fly.

Application of ZnO phosphor thermometry to BATH test rig

Designed and developed the test section to adapt it for ZnO phosphor thermometry. FIlm cooling measurements were made here.

Film cooling studies: Experiments

Conducted extensive experiments on BATH test rig to test standard and novel film cooling hole configurations. Results showed an improvement of upto 50% increase in adiabatic film cooling efficiency.

CFD simulations: LES of Film cooling configurations

Performed LES simulations on StarCCM+ and demonstrated the flow physics of a new hole shape

I love travelling. Lived in 7 countries and visited 30+ countries and counting!

Preservia (CEO)

The goal of Preservia was to maximize research into products that help in preserving our planet to do my little part. Moreover, at Preservia we aimed to provide jobs for women in marginalized societies in India. Preservia provided jobs directly and indirectly to 20 people. We won a French entrepreneurship competition for being the most innovative company in 2020.
